What I do

Every session I run is built around the organisation in the room. Not as a promise, but because of how the work is put together:

We talk before I design anything.

A scoping conversation about what's actually going on, not a form to fill in.

The scenarios are yours.

Real situations your managers are dealing with, in your language, rather than generic case studies.

I adapt in the room.

I've delivered to groups spanning first-time leaders through to those a level below board, and roles from central functions and engineering to programme management and the shop floor. Reading the room and pitching it for everyone in it is the job.

Programmes:

1. The Confident Manager Programme

For new, recently promoted and accidental managers

The people who were good at their job, got promoted for it, and were never taught the rest.

There were a number of models and tools discussed that can be applied to the everyday working environment. I also appreciated the opportunity to discuss them with peers, followed by the opportunity to feedback and provide further guidance and information from Sarah.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Confident Manager Programme is a modular programme, and so you choose four to six full or half-day modules from the selection below:

  • The shift - what changes when you start leading people, and what to let go of
  • Feedback conversations - holding them well, handling defensiveness, following through
  • Accountability - setting expectations and following up without micromanaging
  • Coaching or mentoring? - two different tools, and knowing which one the moment needs
  • Impact and intent - why what you meany and what landed aren't the same thing
  • Time and priorities - protecting focus when everything is urgent
  • Leading through change - including taking a team through AI adoption

This programme can be delivered face-to-face or virtually, in-house, for a cohort of up to twelve.

Some formal guidance received on people management which I have never received in circa 10 years of people management.

2. Leadership Masterclasses

Standalone sessions

For when there's one specific thing to fix or you want to try something before committing to a programme.

Sarah was excellent throughout. The course content was very informative and allowed for great participation from all members of the cohort.

It was really well run. Sarah was engaging and took us through each point. It really got you to think and speak with other people.

3. Executive Coaching

One to one

For leaders and senior professionals working through something specific.

I hold the AoEC Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching, an ICF-accredited programme, with Gestalt Coaching and Organisational Transactional Analysis alongside it. Behind that sits sixteen years in a highly regulated organisation of 65,000 people, so I understand at first hand what leaders face when navigating change, building capability and turning organisational priorities into everyday behaviour.

This coaching course has had a hugely positive impact on both my personal and professional development. It has given me greater confidence in my own abilities, helped provide clearer direction in terms of my goals and aspirations, and encouraged me to believe in myself and the value I bring.

The coaching sessions created a supportive environment that challenged my thinking and helped me approach situations with a more positive, focused mindset. I have come away with practical tools, increased self-awareness, and a stronger sense of confidence in making decisions and career progressions.

4. Career Coaching

One to one

For those experiencing career transitions.

I've delivered over 1,500 career transition and executive coaching engagements, covering redundancy, career change, returning to work and getting unstuck. My capacity here is limited at present, but do get in touch and I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.

Before coaching I spent eleven years running recruitment at Lloyds Banking Group, developing competency-based frameworks, behavioural interview guides and assessment methodologies. I know what hiring managers are trained to look for, because I trained them.
